Black Philosophy

by Khiry Collins

They won’t give me a job other than fast food or drugs
They won’t let me leave the hood other than to a league or in a body bag
They won’t let our leaders speak unless they agree
They won’t let.
But with this new age my talents can’t be ignored
We take advantage of all their so called advantages
They know with equal footing we might rise from the ghetto
We are like the walking dead to them infecting them and changing them
But we can’t worry about them
Our culture reaches world wide
People in lands we can’t pronounce dress just like us
They call it American culture
But we don’t see that
We only see what’s in our “hood”
And while everyone is loving our culture
We are killing it.
