Katarzyna Suchodolska
Fishes’ small corpses dry on the coast of the cold dark sea.
The dawn woke us and we cried with tears salty as the cold dark sea.
We argued till love was gone and never seen again.
The rain destroyed the calm still surface of the cold dark sea.
A seagull cries for a lost child that will not come,
For what is lost is lost forever in the cold dark sea.
“No one can ever tear us apart,” she whispered softly.
She kissed her lover and gave her body to the cold dark sea.
A comet melts into the sun but no one’s watching;
A sailor died and everyone bids him farewell by the cold dark sea.
She should have put more purity into this ghazal
Because Katharos means she is pure as the cold dark sea.
