Midtown: A Journal of Writing and Fine Arts is published online twice yearly–in December and in May–by the English department of Houston Community College-Central. All work appearing in Midtown is original, previously unpublished work by HCC students. Opinions or views expressed in the published works do not necessarily represent those of the editors or HCC.

Midtown accepts submissions of poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction, and artwork.  Submissions must be emailed as attachments to Melinda Mejia ( and be accompanied by the author’s full name, address, phone number, email, and titles of work. Authors should also attach an author’s bio.
